Kingswood is one of the UK's leading providers of residential educational school trips to schools and colleges from across the UK and Europe. Every year we recruit over 300 enthusiastic young people to work at our 9 Educational Activity Centres around the UK and Northern France.
We're all about inspiring children to learn through having fun, we call it "learning in action". You will feel what it is like to make the difference in a child's life when they maybe don't even recognise it - when a child is having so much fun they don't realise they're learning control technology in the ICT lab, or that they've just perfectly demonstrated team leadership, team-working and negotiation when they led their group in the problem solving exercise. Or maybe they tested their stamina and coordination, increased their self-confidence and gained the respect of their classmates because they made it to the top of the climbing wall first.
No experience is necessary, just a passion for wanting to work with children and inspiring them to learn in the outdoors.
Are you eligible?
Unfortunately not everyone can join this fantastic apprenticeship scheme. The scheme is government funded and regulations are set by the Learning Skills Council (LSC) which determines who we can and can’t accept.
The main criteria are:
• You must be aged between 18-24yrs
• You must be an EU citizen and have lived within the EU for the last 3 years.
• You must not already have an NVQ Level 2 in Activity Leadership or Sport & Recreation
• You must not hold an NVQ Level 3 or above qualification.
• You must not have a degree, HND, HNC or be studying towards a degree.
Our Instructor Development Programme is the perfect starting-point for you if you're considering a career in the outdoor education & leisure industry and will provide you with an Apprenticeship in Sport and Recreation gaining externally recognised qualifications and an NVQ level 2 in Activity Leadership. In a single year, we aim to give our Instructors more than just a long list of qualifications. We also want you to achieve a degree of life experience that will equip you for the years ahead.
You will be paid a monthly training allowance and provided with accommodation and food. Food is free of charge! So overall, you’ll get food and accommodation and around £275 per month paid into your bank account.
Not everyone will be up to the task – that’s why we’re looking for really enthusiastic people who want to make a difference. You will not only learn how to do things that not so long ago you wouldn’t have thought possible – you will also discover how to inspire, thrill and motivate young minds to do the same.
We are currently looking for people to attend our assessment weekends in the coming months – interested? Then Apply now!
